    For those familiar with gmail, you will note there is an "thread updated" message that pops up if someone else has already replied to the thread you are typing your own reply to.

    Very useful feature - avoids repeating what someone may have just posted.

    Any possibility of this becoming a feature of boards at any stage?

    It already is, you can subscribe to the thread (Thread Tools->Subscribe to this Thread) and have notification via email instantly, daily or weekly. Something like that?

    Yes, similar, except then you need your email open, and your inbox would be getting pretty full after no length, no?

    Just a pop up box (in boards itself) like pm's can be set to do when one arrives.

    It would open pop up if a reply to the thread you are actually in the process of replying to was updated!
