Is there any issuse here that cant be solved or need more than just the drivers updated?

Ive read a few things in other forums through google that have said theres problems with it!?

I was thinking about getting an X-Fi gamer card for my new pc but im unsure now...

Have a look on the creative site and see if there is vista driver. They must have them by now.

Yep! Theres drivers that came out last month for vista!

One other question.. Differnece between OEM and Retail version? OEM being just the card?(no bundled software)

    Im probably wrong saying that!

Yea OEM generally means you don't get the fancy crap and additional software. Occasionally it means that you need to use the pc supplier's drivers and not the generic ones. I had a few problems with my Audigy 2 ZS in so far as the XP drivers off the creative site wouldn't work so had to use the Dell one's only.

Having said that, the Vista drivers off the Creative site work fine.

Be aware there is no directsound acceleration in Vista's audio sub system anymore because the directsound API is emulated through it's replacment called XACT. As such the benefits from a dedicated 'directsound' sound card are no longer important if you wish to lower CPU utilization though really you are only eaking out a small bit of extra performance anyway.

Creative has a workaround in the form of what it calls Alchemy it is a Directsound to OpenAL wrapper, OpenAL is an API that supports hardware acceleration and works under Vista. So essentially this gives you hardware acceleration for select games under Vista.

As for the drivers to as was mentioned get those ones from Creatives website don't ever install the junk that comes on the CD.
