That looks like it's from ankermann - if so consider upgrading the motherboard to a gigabyte 965p-ds3 for not much more €s. Maybe a better PSU too. The rest of it looks good

Why 2 DVD-writers? Do you need them?

Also I would definitely get a better PSU and a better case too. Lose a DVD and put the money towards a better case.

That gigabyte board is Micro-ATX form factor. If you are not putting it in a smaller case, then I can't really see why you don't buy a better ATX board. You do seem to have got it for a good price though.

What site are you buying this from?

dunno lol. to be honest im a bit ****e with building computers - how about this setup so:

    INTEL Core 2 Duo E6600 2x 2,40Ghz FSB 1066 S.775 2x2MB: € 125.99
    - GigaByte 965P-DS3 R3.3(P/S/SATA-II/GBL/R/V/DDR-II): € 59.90
    - PCI-e 640MB NVidia GeForce 8800-GTS TV-out- DVI DDR3: € 369.90
    - SATA-II 400 GB MAXTOR 6H400F0 (7200rpm-16MB): € 105.90
    - DDR-II upgrade from 256MB to 1024MB KINGSTON PC667: € 48.90
    - DDR-II RAM 1024MB KINGSTON PC667: € 68.90
    - DVD-Drive IDE Samsung 16x/52x SH-D162C/BEWE: € 0.00
    - DVD-Drive IDE Samsung 16x/52x SH-D162C/BEWE: € 15.90
    - DVD-RW Samsung 18x/18x/4,0x RAM DL SH-S182A/BEBE: € 41.90
    - Aspire X-Cruiser Midi-Tower - Black: € 99.00
    - Intel CPU cooler
    - 450W XILENCE PFC 5V=29 A/ 3.3V=30 A/ 12V=14 A: € 27.90
    - Realtek ALC888 8 channel audio
    - 10/100 Ethernet LAN

I'm not too bothered about the case or sound card at the mo - will be upgrading both at a later date - mite get a water cooled case system yoke. I want to keep it all within 1300 squids for now. How this so?

would there not be a fairly big difference between the 320mb card and 640mb one no? that is good tho - comes with operating system at that price unlike ankermann

Oh ya there would be a big difference alright but it depends what resolutipn your gaming at. eg there would be little or no difference at 1024 x 768

edit this 1 without os and with 640 card

    Gigabyte Poseidon GZ-XA1CA-STB Black
NEC DVD±RW burner AD-5170 IDE Black OEM,

Norman IC, 1 year license Virus Control,

yea Id rather have the 640mb one tbh. so if that was the case, id say its cheaper from ankermann, but otherwise not

Don't judge a card purely by the amount of RAM it has. A common ploy is to take aging cards, and tack on some extra cheap GDDR so ppl think its a bargain. Far more important are the core frequency and memory frequency.

I always try and check out some gaming benchmarks before making my mind up about a card.

Dunno bout ankermann, can't comment on them either way, but there is a flaw in your reasoning for prices. The E6600 is indeed 275 on komplett, 265 on dabs which are pretty competitive prices. The price you have given is an upgrade over a 6300, the base processor in that system spec. The price difference between the two on komplett is only 100 euro.

Anyway, I wouldn't trust someone else to build my system, the whole fun is doing it yourself. Being able to choose every component yourself is my preferred method over selecting from a pretty limited component list. Heck, by a dell and get a free screen!

€1200 for an E6300 Dell 9200. Granted it comes with an X1300, but thats easily remedied with an 8800 GTS. Plus you get a 22" screen in the mix.

Also, check this to see how the 320MB GTS stands up against its peers and superiors. Oblivion is still a demanding game and the difference between the 640 and 320 cards is 0.3 FPS. In most cases it seems the extra memory only comes into play with using high levels of anti-aliasing.

Didnt really want to get a Dell cuz their notoriously hard to upgrade to be hoenst. Take your point about the graphics card too. Seems cheaper to not buy all the parts separately tho to me - some of the bundles are better - at least it looks that way.

    Thanks for the help guys
