What paperwork when buying car?

    Im just wondering what paperwork should i get from the seller when buying a car from them??

    Nothing. They (the seller) send off the registration book to Shannon, and it gets transferred to your name. You'll obviously need to fill it out.

    And then it gets sent to me presumably, you will have to forgive anything you consider to be a stupid question 100% noob to this. First time buying a car. Dont want to get caught out or anything!

    make sure you sign the papers before buying the car and also add the date and TIME below just in case you get a speeding ticket.

    There is/was a tear off strip on the bottom of the transfer of ownership form. Not sure if this has been superceded now?

    Get a written receipt, showing your name/address; the make/model; registration; price; the seller's full name and address. It should be signed and dated by the seller.
