Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Mark St. John basically had a very short claim to fame when he joined KISS in 1984 to work on their "Animalize" album. He developed Reiters Syndrom and his hands couldn´t move so he got replaced in 84 by Bruce Kulick.

St. John later played in White Tiger and even recorded an album with original KISS drummer Peter Criss in 1999.

He was 51 years old and died from a brain heamorrhage

Rumour has ot he was a great guitar player but it seems he has been very underrated during his lifetime.

    RIP

Thats a real shame. I love the album he did with KISS. Its a pity he could only do one album with them.

    RIP Mark

AHHH! that's terrible! he was excellent!! That White Tiger album is fantastic! He really was a great guitar player. Can't find his solo Instrumental album Magic Bullet Theory anywhere unfortunatly. Something about his playing was just REALLY good, it was ever so slightly unique and his solo's had some ingenious bits in them.

His hand was better before KISS' Animalize tour was finished but he wasn't allowed rejoin. Vinnie Vincent would say that Paul was jealous of Mark's (and Vinnie's of course) guitar playing skills, but that's just stupid because you could put a guitar in the hands of a monkey with Down's Syndrome and it would be a better (solo) guitar player than Paul and anyway it's not like Bruce Kulick is crap, he's a very good guitar player (But Mark St.John and Vinnie Vincent are better, and have better names!).

It really says something that on Kissonline.com they only give two very short paragraphs to the story.
Edit: I just noticed that there are actually personal messages from Paul, Gene, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer about Mark so nevermind about that last statement

I wonder what his relationship was like with KISS after his replacment.

Probably virtually non existant. Although he did attend many KISS Expos, so im sure he met them and other previous members at them a few times after.
