    To answer your question - even if you register the domain, it doesnt matter, once the site is uploaded to a public server, it can be seen (for example, if you uploaded to eircom, the url to the site, could be
    http://homepage.eircom.net/~nameofyoursite

    )

    The only other question to ask about hosting is are there any special requirements for the site - php,databases, etc - if so, then you might be better of getting a professional company (as indicated below) to help you out.

    The simplest answer is this - if you really do not know what you are doing - go to a hosting company (some are mentioned on the sticky about hosting http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055075688) as those guys will be able to tell you what and how to do things, like domains, etc.

    Aside from that, some of them also offer very reasonable packages for hosting and domains, plus their support would answer any and all questions you would have.

    The downside to what you are doing, free hosting, etc is that you are unsure about domains, etc - that is why I recommend the above suggestions.

    Failing that, what you need to do is to register the domain you want, and point it to where your website is - (handy pointer) is that if you dont understand what I mean by "point", then my first suggestion is definitely something you should do.
