Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This might not be the best place for this thread, so please feel free to move.
So, there is a guy who lives near enough to me, who has pretty much made the lives, of those unfortunate to live around him, a total misery.
He is currently serving 5 months in St Pats for threatening a guards life, and the guards children's lives (nice guy, huh?).
However, I know he is due out sometime in May, and then apparently he is to be trialled for assault and battery, and a separate charge of theft.

Anyhow, I would be very interested to know when he is to be trialled, as I would like to attend the courts if possible.

I have no interested in doing anything dodgy or underhanded, I was just wondering if there any legal way of finding out when his court date might be?

Click on "Legal Diary" in the menu. Hopefully you can locate the trial there.

I tried that site, but can't seem to find any future court dates, only past dates.

If you have been the victim of a violent/sexual assault, you can contact the DPP's office, and they might assist you. If you are a witness in a criminal trial, ask the prosecuting garda or the defence solicitor.

Otherwise, I don't think you are entitled to that information. You could ask around, but I'm not sure that you would get accurate information.

You could ring your local garda station, they'll usually tell you.

    They probably shouldn't though.

If it's a jury trial it'll be in the Circuit Court, check Dublin Circuit Criminal Court legal diary or else the provincial lists and the Circuit Court.

More then likely then not though it'll be in the District Court (heard by a judge sitting without a jury). The Courts service don't appear to be publishing criminal cases for the district court.
