I did Frank Sinatra's "My Way" with a group of Leaving Certs boys a couple of years ago. They were mad for it - it was great!:) :D

Ah yeah, mine was good, slightly dramatic and painful, but good.

had ours last week. big gospel choir in our school so we did Take That - Never Forget. there was loads of Eva Cassidy at ours too, made it quite funeral like at times and a gorgeous Martina McBride song called In My Daughters Eyes. that made the mammys cry :p

Somebody in our school chose Fix you - Coldplay. We didnt even get to vote!
It seems a bit depressing for a grad song...

Also playing Wish you were here - Pink Floyd for two students who passed away.

Thought i revive this topic, I've got mine in a few weeks and i was looking for some suggestions when i came across this from last year.

Any current 6th years have any ideas what they're doing for the grad mass?

We had to do that Vitamin C song last year:rolleyes:
but it was still a brilliant night though.

I think "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac would be a good one if you go to a crappy school. Kinda like a f**k you message:D

    "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow.
Don't stop, it will soon be here.
It will be better than before.
    Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone"

Oh, and for a surreal finale, try "I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts"

Last year for the Mass we did a song by Phil Collins-Tell Everybody I'm On My Way(think that's the name) and then at the end of the night out we had Vitamin C.

This year it is I'll Be On My Way by The Saw Doctors(makes sense,we are from Tuam) and the night out will be the predictable Vitamin C. Unfortunately, I won't be at the mass this year as I'll be rocking out to Bruce Springsteen the same night! Wooppee!

"Never Forget" sounds liek a really good one to do....
I swear if we get "Don't stop believeing" I'll kill people....its our school camogie teams song (they won an all-ireland earlier in the year, the song is played on a loop anything they move these days!)....so sick of that song!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,475 ✭✭✭Lil' Smiler

We had "Heyday" by Mic Christopher

Wasn't the best, nobody knew the words and a whole load of us didn't want it but the prefects pretty much got their say in and so we were stuck with that :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 149 ✭✭daggy

Yip we are having Journey too i think... either that or Fix you- coldplay.
Or Don't Dream it's over - crowded house . Can you smell the cheese?

Or C'mon C'mon by the Von Bondies was also a popular option.
The irony of it all at the minute kills me as the whole year is fighting like crazy over our end of year grad party/mass thingy. It's one for the yearbooks let me tell you!

Is anyone else having a band play the songs? We are but there not too good and I'm afraid they'll ruin all my favourite songs.
