Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey guys, having problems connecting to the server. Its not my account, my friend has asked me to sign up her account from her mail website.

    Ive entereted in all the approtiate information but when it trys to send or recieve mail. For the POP3 server ive entered in pop.dancingtherainbow.net and for the smpt ive entered in smpt.dancingtherainbow.net

    I read up 3 different articles about how to setup a account, never having done this before myself I dont know much about it. Some of the articles have said to put in the pop in the server name, some say pop3 and the other one said to leave it out.

    Im lost tbh, the error is below.

    The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.dancingtherainbow.net', Server: 'pop.dancingtherainbow.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E


    Any help would be appreciated.

    Forget what the articles say about entering for the details, use what the service provider says the settings are. This may include changing port numbers to nondefaults, so be sure to go through their support section on it.

    ah cheers aiden. I work at a cafe and we have wireless here, the isp is only local, called cablevision. But she mainly access's her mail from work which I think is eircom so do i need to ring them to get the proper information. cheers for reply

    Some ISP's only allow you to send email through their server if you connect directly to them. So you may have to use cablevision for out going email.

    so if you want to test from the bottom up telnet is your friend - not sure if it's Vista's friend though

    the old way were
    telnet mail.eircom.net 25
    telnet mail.eircom.net 110

    and see how far you got - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/153119

    as for the servername
