4am this morning - no connection?

    Guys, anyone on the Roaches St. exchange in Limerick notice a TOTAL loss of connection to the DNS server at around 4am this morning?

    It had been working upto 2.20am, i left the wireless router on and came back...zero connection, DSL stats showed no connection to the exchange, i rebooted the router and did all the usual troubleshooting steps.

    Seems fine now, but these ISP problems seem to be getting worse on a daily basis, what are Eircom doing???

    At that hour of the morning possibly repairs, maintenance?

    i would guess maintenance, presumably because eircom would not assume there would be many people browsing the web at 4am on a wednesday morning

    could also be due to a new security vulnerability in the DNS service, it could have crashed the DNS service

    i wouldn't say eircom are using windows based dns servers.
