It's too soon to say exactly what the best solution is for next season as nobody knows yet who is showing what.

    You will definitely need
    • A dish 80cm size
    • A satellite receiver box (not the Sky one or the FTA one) with CI for a CAM and viewing card.

Chances are good that these have some football
    Premiere
    ART (maybe)
    Digitalb
    TPS
    Canal+ Spain
    Canal+ Scandinavia

but too early to make a decision.

If you're buying a box, I like the Technomate best of what I have seen.

Ricey - I have the TM 1500 CI Super with an Art Card, think I paid about 90 pounds for the card, and I get all the PL matches.
But as PAL said next season is different as ART don;t seem to have all the rights to the PL so hang for a bit and see what happens.

Premiere Sport Germany will be showing over 300 LIVE premiership games from next season.

    Official cards are expensive though.

Potentially an unoffical card could be even more expensive.

I found one site so far, who are selling Premiere for £380 (year). I'd imagine resellers will charge more once new season starts.

aquos76 where did you hear that about Premiere showing 300 games?

btw does anyone know what this means?

" All Premiere programs also available via entavio soon"

edit: found a site about the 300 games

It means that Premiere will also be available on the new SES Astra package called "Entavio" starting on 01.09.2007. All RTL + MTV channels will be on that platform, too.
who are selling Premiere for £380 (year)
Jeez, Premiere Fussball (incl. PremLge) is only €9.99/month on a two year sub.
Or one could buy a Flex-card
No subscription needed, top up by credit card, flexible choice of channels.

Before I'd spend £380 I'd rather get a postbox and install a bank account over there. :D

Through a friend of mine who actually supplies all these cards. I am waiting on some concrete details about which package of premiere will be needed to enable us see all the games.

Hopefully within a couple of weeks we will have exact prices.

Yes but what does that mean in English? :)

If it's an SES Astra package, I'd expect it to be on Astra 1 19E, where most German langauge channels are already.

    Here
is a site that might explain whats behind "entavio". Mind you, its from early december. And here is SES Astras official statement.
In short "entavio" is SES astras failed:confused: ? attempt to convert the free german channels into encrypted channels, where one could get a card for a "marginal" fee of around four €uro to watch RTL, Sat1 or Das Erste. ARD/ZDF (national channels) were the first to refuse to join in. Later P7/Sat1 made clear that they're not intending to encrypt their programs.
So atm. "entavio" is shtuck only with RTL/MTV plus the already encrypted Premiere.
Sorry for hijacking this thread. But I learned from the best. :D:D:D

which technomate box would you recommend? im new too this foreign satelite business and a lot of them technomate boxes are going for around the same price so im not sure which would be best too go for, cheers.

oh and is any make/model of 80cm dish ok? and would it be of any benefit to get a bigger dish say 110cm?

TM1500 CI is the most useful having common interface slot to accept CAMs.
The TM100D + Super has a card slot but relies on internal emulator instead of CAM. You should have CAM with offical card. I use a lot of Technomates and find them excellent.
Go with a Triax TD78 dish.

I have the above reciever plus 88cm Triax dish and moteck motor all up reciever from ebay(€100)dish ,smart lnb and moteck motor just over (€100) from Germany good service too!

So what are people going with ?

Will an 80cm dish pickup Supersport ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,711 ✭✭✭kaisersose77

Nova/Supersport is an absolute rip off , you should be able to get it with an 80cm dish though.

And Premiere might not even be showing the Premiership matches live at all now. They had lost the rights to the Bundesliga to Arena last season and this was the only reason they got the rights to soo many premiership matches. But now Arena wants to sell their rights for the bundesliga as there not getting enough customers. And so Premiere will more than likely buy them and wont have enough channels to show both leagues, meaning all the premier league games might be shown delayed.

And so Premiere will more than likely buy them and wont have enough channels to show both leagues,
It worked last season. Premiere was showing two 3 o'clock PL matches plus seven 3.30 BL matches (the latter as feed for cable ops)
During that time the time shifted movies were put on halt.

First matches are fixed on Premiere:

    Sat, 11.08.07
11:55 FC Arsenal - FC Fulham

    Sun, 12.08.07
13:25 FC Chelsea - Birmingham City
15:55 Manchester United - FC Reading

    Tue, 14.08.07
19:55 Tottenham Hotspur - FC Everton

    Wed, 15.08.07
19:55 FC Reading - FC Chelsea

    Sat, 18.08.07
12:40 FC Portsmouth - Bolton Wanderers
14:55 Blackburn Rovers - FC Arsenal

    Sun, 19.08.07
13:25 Manchester City - Manchester United
15:55 FC Liverpool - FC Chelsea

I thought Premiere were going to be showing up to 10 Premiership matches live each weekend .
Have they cut back now ?

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,051 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Yes they have. When they bought up the rights for the FAPL, they did not have the rights to their own German league, however, they have now gotten those rights back and have therefore had to cut down on their LIVE coverage of the PL games.

This crowd got ART's deal now.
From what I read elsewhere, you need a huge big mother of a dish to pick up Showtime.

Premiere and Digitalb both have English commentary. Galaxie Sport does too.
    D+ and Canal+ do not.
