Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

My bro is moving in to a new place, and is looking to get two 32" LCD screens.

Could anyone recommend a screen for about €700 that would display standard definition TV well (he'll be using NTL digital - can't get sky digital) and also be grand for playing the PS3 on. He was looking at the mirai 32inch in Xtravision, but i'm not sure how it would handle SD, so i have told him to hold off on it.

    Any ideas?

SD is gonna look fairly crap on any LCD. I'd recommend getting 2 of these:

You have to pay by bank transfer but I think delivery is 20euros no matter what you get. Same tv is 110 euros dearer on komplett.ie (and was a lot dearer than that last month!)

Theres a post about them here:

And Samsung's customer service is top notch!

I know this is a stupid question but I take it this TV will come with a European 2pin plug and German instruction manual.....

yep a german plug ( but you should be able to get a an plug convertor in electrical store ). You can fit the plug into a normal socket (mine is atm but dont know how save that is!). I think the manual is in all european languages from what I can remember. The tv is even cheaper here and where i got mine last month, but if you checking the bargain alerts thread a lot of ppl had a load of hassle with them and were waiting ages ( I guess I was lucky but i would probably take the risk at this price if I was looking for a another tv for the house and wasnt in a rush for the tv)
