    Hello there,

Ive recently bought a car off a dealer.
The car passed its NCT the day before.

Now... I thought that NCT is valid for two years,
although the date the certificate states is July 2008.

How could this be ? Why isn't it April 2009 ?

    Cheers,
    B

if the NCT was originally due in July 2006, the cert will be back dated to then, regardless of when it passed the test.

The NCT was obviously due in July 2006 but the dealer didn't get it done until yesterday.

NCT lasts for 2 years from Due date, not date passed.

so, Due July 2006, next due July 2008.

    Mike.

    That was quick!

    Thanks for the thorough answer.

And if the car had its NCT due in 2003,
what would happen then ? re-NCTed ASAP? :)))

Could also be that the car is an import.
