So Brought my car to the mechanic

Seals are gone on the end ... leaking into the boots ... ARRGH

Ordered a second hand steering rack from Treynors up north for 180 Euro including shipping to Cork.

Local independent mechanic is charging 150 euro in labor so this will bring the total to 330 euro

Now the dilemma....... I ordered it .. Great ... But is a second hand steering rack a good idea.

I can get a reconditioned rack from this crowd in the UK:
    http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/steering-rack-display.php?txtmodel=Octavia&txtmake=Skoda&Submit=Next

Would be 370 euro for a reconditioned rack .. plus the 150 in labor would bring it to 520 euro !

So i guess what i'm asking is should i spend the extra 190 euro for the reconditioned one over the second hand one ?

did you try otto. I know they only charge €120 for a new mk3 golf?

Seems pretty high for a second hand one
