Audio playback problem in FCP 5

    Just captured a load of footage in FCP and have found that when I play back the footage in the source window or on the timeline it appears a few frames out of sync.

    Now when I scrub through the footage (ie - play at low speed with slowed sound) it is in sync and when I go into the audio waveforms of the clips it shows that they are in sync but when I play back the audio drifts again.

    I have the Audio playback set to Default but am playing out through the Macbook's own speakers.

    I've never encountered this problem before - anyone any suggestions on how to fix it?
