Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i doubt it is less than 190k which is more than enough for your needs i personally use 320 when i can but no1 i know can tell the difference wheather its on a big club system or a home stereo

I don't agree. Any time I've played at at parties etc, I can notice a difference between the higher and lower mp3 bitrates, and I have heard this is only accentuated on big club systems. There is a definite noticeable difference when you play 182kbs - the volume isn't as loud andthere is less depth in the sound all together. 320kbs is almost indistinguishable but the vinyl purists will always say no digital sounds a good as a record...

might be worth a shot (never used them myself, I'm just guessing)

I'd say high bitrate mp3 will be harder to find

I'm the same, can almost tell the difference between a 192 from a 160 from a 128kbps straight off. I never use anything below 190kbps on the fixed MP3 rate, or 212kbps average. Where possible, I set my limit at 224kbps.

The sound differences are always in the high frequency instruments like cymbals and hi-hats. It is the nature of MP3 encoding - remove the (higher) frequencies that the average human ear cannot hear. The lower the bit rate, the more these bits of frequencies have been stripped, thus sounds more flat etc.

    iTunes is often 128kpbs AAC.

If nobody can tell the difference between a low bit rate mp3 and a lossless source on a club system they're either not listening, half deaf or the system is a of load crap.
