I reckon Chelsea are just as likely to drop points this weekend as Utd (if not more so). They had a much more physical affair, and seemed to flag a bit midweek against what wasn't a great Liverpool performance.

they just about proved me right in the end. :D

the big difference today was that Chelsea only had one route to go direct, United had much more options available to them, wing play, long ball, set pieces through balls, blah blah. watching Chelsea's last few minutes was like going back 20 years in time. hoof it up! very entertaining day, united never make it easy for themselves and needed a huge bit of luck. can't wait to see what Jose has to say on all this :D

fantistic little goal by Eagles to finish it off. it looked like his legs turned to jelly in the build up lol

My God at 2-0 down we looked dead and buried. What a fantastic result for Man U and with Chelsea only drawing,

We could yet win the title at their place Wednesday week. Now that would be sweet, but probably not as sweet as us beating city next Saturday and Arsenal beating Chelsea, and then having to watch them clapping us on to the pitch at the bridge;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

i think i have just experienced every feeling possible watching a footie match, at 2.10, the gap was 0 and the title was swinging in chelseas favour, 35 minutes later, it was 5 points, wat a f**kin day, unbelieveable, never anything like it before.

john o shea is a legend, kicked off the hole thing again(with a helping hand!).
gift from neville, great composure from rooney, delighted for eagles.

WHAT A DAY. Lets hope we can turn the screw now next sat v city. it also now means that chelsea cannot win the league, until the last day, whereas at one stage today, it looked like them winning it against us on wednesday week was a possibility. hopefully arsenal will take a point off them next week to finish it up.

only Utd can do that sort of thing...

2-0 down, away from home, Chelsea winning... under serious mental pressure...

and john o'shea steps up to start the recovery :D

crack open the champers lads, the title race is over and so too is Chelsea's quadrouple and the real treble :)

    What a day :)
Delighted for Eagles, you could see how much it meant to him, and what a great finish.

United 5 points ahead, with 3 games left.
It's still not over, but it's very very nice. Suprisingly enough, the only thing that has changed is that United can afford to draw a match, and still keep a win ahead, while before they couldn't.

We can lose at Chelsea, draw with either Man City or Westham, and win one of those, and we'll be league champions.
    Fantastic :)

utd are 5 points ahead (in reality 6 if it comes down to goals), so they can draw against city and lose to chelsea, and still be crowned champions by beating west ham on the last day at home...

provided of course chelsea beat arsenal and utd, which is a big ask

all in all, it IS over :D

Similar to Ronaldo's in midweek. I think Kalou will get it.

It was nothing like Ronaldos Midweek. Ronaldos was on the way into the net when the keeper got his hand to it. Kalous was moving away from the net having hit the post and a defender before hitting the keepers leg and being rebounded into teh net. Definitely an OG.

Chelsea will draw, Man Yoo will win.

Please send me next weeks predictions by pm. :D

Great watching both matches on the split screen. It is all over now.

Lots of youngsters and squad-players in the team for Liverpool today, good to see the youngsters getting a go anyway.

Hopefully this will expand United's confidence for the Milan game and have the opposite effect for Chelsea, resulting in a United V Liverpool CL final. Would prefere to play Liverpool than Chelski.

Wont be long before that everton keeper gets death threats off the headhunters. What are the chances Ronaldo will get at least an 8 out of 10 off the sun just like the Milan match even though he done absolutely nothing when he came on. Anyways great win :) , did maureen give an interview yet? He'll be asking the FA to investigate neville's og now.

Pool thankfully givin a few lads a go, Insue and Paletta start, El Zhar on the bench. Id love to know what Anderson has done to piss Rafa off, cause thats the only answer to his lack of chances this year. has been playing well for the reserves.

Bellamy's fast and everything, but some of the balls Alonso is putting through for him, you'd think he's the Flash or something!

Fowlers looking good, put in a beautiful little finish that was ruled offside, fantastic finish though. Played a few great inteligent through balls. Be very sad to see him go. Deserved much more football this year. 7 starts, 7 goals!

<<EDIT>> Oh and Congratulations to the United Fans on all but securing another Premiership.

just after seeing Jose's interview there - nothing contraversial, surprisingly. Maybe he doesn't know that Neville scored an OG!

His very presence on the pitch has effect. He ties up 2 defenders at least . I though he made a difference today.

well thats true and is something andy gray mentioned, but in terms of passes etc, he was crap again.

yeah, you're being a bit unfair to Ronaldo. as soon as he came on a lot of the Everton defensive effort went into negating him, and it opened up a bit more space for the rest of them. the third definitly wouldn't have gone in without him on the pitch.

West Ham v Wigan has lacked any "umph!"

    West Ham scores Boa Morte.

Pompey scores - Benjani. Dudek to blame

    Mike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,080 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

1 -0 to Pompey, Benjani, terrible positioning from dudek, came out to try and claim it at the edge of the box but didnt. Benjani had a nice easy finish. I think was an assist for David james too!

honestly, why do you bother putting up comments like this, who cares what the sun give? and what do you expect from ronaldo, step overs and goals in EVERY game, get real man! not least the fact that the boy was injured, or else he would have been on from the start and definatley been on before richardson.

anyway, ronaldo had a vital impact today. think about it, you have just conceded a sloppy goal and its a 2-1 lead, who do you see coming on? the second top scorer in the league and the most influential player in the land. it definatley had an psychological impact on the everton players. top top tactics from fergie, he knew that it would distract the attention away from the likes of giggs and rooney and scholes. and if your saying that ronaldo was poor against milan, think again. you not see that everytime he got the ball, there was 2 players, sometimes 3 on him? and its been like that all year

west ham just scored BTW.boa morte

1530: Liverpool's reserve keeper Jerzy Dudek shows Rafa what he's missing with a flying save from Gary O'Neill's curling effort.

    1531: GOAL Portsmouth 1-0 Liverpool
I think that's what you call the commentator's curse. Jerzy Dudek comes out to clear David James' long kick, misses it and that leaves Benjani to head in.

    Haha. Ohhh Dudek.

2 -0 to Pompey, Krancjar, cool finish after an amazing crossfield pass from Lauren. Honestly think Reina might have done better with the save though. Very good goal though.

Great results again today. Champions elect.

Anyone see the Mourinho interview on sky before the game today. He looked shook. Serious bags under the eyes. Souness was saying during the week that many had taken on Fergie in a war of words and come off second best and he thought Mourinho was another to come off second best and it was showing. He did not look well today. Pity about him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,080 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Thats brilliant news. With pretty much the whole liverpool team rested today, should be right up for it on tuesday. hopefully chelsea will be downhearted after today. Kuyt and Crouch is definately the way to go with one of their big markers out of the game. Essien will probably replace him and, well, we saw how he did when marking Davies today...or w could get really really lucky and Boulahrouz might start!
