Tried askin in help desk but no response :( So here goes again.

The recently created Command & Conquer forum doesnt seem to be listed on the games drop down menu. Luckily I stuck it down as a subscribed thread, so its listed on my subscribed list, but it should be under games. Dunno whats wrong others all seem to work. Maybe there is a limit to how many forums can be listed on the menu?? If so could it be increased to show all the forums. It doesn't help them really when people couldnt find it or notice it easily.

I can see it, no problem.
Clear your cache. It should be ok then.

    /Edit
Now I can't see it. Something weird is going on.

OK. It is visible on the main index page but not on the headers above any of the Forums etc.

Methinks it's to do with some of the servers.

Yeah the same for Lifehacking. Well for me anyway:cool:

EDIT: I am the only non mod that posted here... :)

as flunked said, it is the same for lifehacking and hobby radio too. sometimes they are there sometimes not. looks like the change takes longer to ripple through on some of the servers? although command has been a round for a while now so would have thought it would have gone through by now if that was it..

HMods only get paid 1/4 of what the normal mods get.

I have checked this several times today and have had no menu problems with:

C&C, Life Hacking or SVP.co.uk ( The blank disk shop not St Vincent De Paul :) )

When the itme are missing from the menu what is the url?. does it read

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/**** or something like http://svr_5.boards.ie/vbulletin/***

If you can stand to lose them - clear your history and temp internet files and see if it makes a difference.

    V.

for me, when I first clicked in here lifehacking wasn't showing in the drop
down, normal www.boards.ie address was showing. did a refresh and now it is there.

took another couple of refreshes but now it is gone again.

Silly me, www.boards.ie can resolve to any of the servers, if you scroll at the bottom of the page you should see the actual server the load balancer has sent you.

eg. admin+srv5@boards.ie Page generated in 0.26163 seconds with 11 queries.

This might help identify if one of the servers is not updating its menu.

A refresh could be moving you to a server where the menu has been updated.

admin+srv3@boards.ie - latest forum in 'new forums' is 'Learning to Drive' (am on http://boards.ie/)
admin+srv2@boards.ie - SVP is the most recent one. (http://www.boards.ie/)

I cleared my cache & cookies before logging back in.

/wait... did I have that wrong? It's showing it all for srv3 now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,901 ✭✭✭Vexorg

ok no C&C, Lifehacking or SVP.co.uk on admin+srv2@boards.ie Page generated in 0.27366 seconds with 11 queries

    admin+srv3@boards.ie All there

OK that theory seems to be out the window.

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,587 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

    not seeing it and its
admin+srv3@boards.ie Page generated in 0.26328 seconds with 11 queries

    [REFRESH]

    still not seeing it and
admin+srv5@boards.ie Page generated in 0.28590 seconds with 11 queries

    [REFRESH]
    lifehacking now in drop down
admin+srv2@boards.ie Page generated in 0.28589 seconds with 11 queries

    [REFRESH]
    gone again:
admin+srv4@boards.ie Page generated in 0.29711 seconds with 11 queries

    [REFRESH]
    back again
admin+srv5@boards.ie Page generated in 0.25614 seconds with 11 queries

so it was there and not there when I had srv5.

I'm still not seeing lifehacking on the drop downs most of the time. Was hoping it
was something that would work itself through the system but that doesn't seem to happening. It's the same for any of the forums created in the last while for me..
