Not a major upgrade but this is the only forum that suits ;) .Just wondering can anyone tell me if the card reader can be taken out of its slot on dell e520 and be replaced by a 3.5inch harddrive? Or would there be not enough space? I never use the card reader but want more harddrive space and am not too fond of external drives (basically im using my pc as a media pc and i like having everything in the one pc). If it can be replaced with a harddrive, is there anything that can be got to cover the open front slot where the front of the card reader was? A simple NO it cant be done will do fine

    cheers

Why not measure the space and see? Most internal card readerswill be the same size as a standard HD. Also check if there is a spare power connector handy.
As for covering the gap maybe get some black or silver mesh cut to size..would give some cooling for the drive too.

Only ideas as I have no idea of the layout of that case.
