help! takes ages to comb out dog hair

I have a shetland collie and she has a very heavy coat for the winter, which I let grow. But, come summer and I end up spending hours combing out clumps of dog hair. The dog gets bored lying there coz it takes soooo long.... It takes hours and hours (usually over a few weeks) to get the full coat light and airy.... Pleeeez…

You need to brush it a little each day, even in the winter because not brushing isn't going to make the dog warmer infact it will be quite uncomfortable.
