Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Both travelle, trained and were declared fit. Ferguson is said to be deciding whether to "risk" playing both.

reckon it would definately be a mistake to play both, better of leaving one and playing Heinze in the middle with whoever, surely Vidic cant be sharp enough to play.

hope he does though and Mr Kaka gives him a lesson :)

I cannot understand all this talk of "risk" or "saving them" for what? Its the SEMI- FINAL OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE we have to go through, OK I know league is not won but i feel we can see off City/west ham without all our first team. This is a massive game please play our best available players

This will be interesting. Utd are a much better side than two years ago, but it is important to remember how toothless they were in the San Siro. Conversely, Milan probably aren't as strong as they were two years ago - and Utd are a goal up in the tie.

The point about Utd needing to score first is well made. Milan going a goal up with the crowd behind them would make life very difficult for Utd. Milan would be able to soak pressure and play on the break which will probably suit them best. Milan are well capable of doing this. Remember their second leg performace in the last round. It was hugely impressive.

At the very least, I think this will be a good game.

I'm pretty sure everyone else realises the 'risk' is that they could get injured again during the game and be the cause of another goal like Rio was a few weeks back when his injury stopped him challenging Viduka.

    Another 3-2 isn't entirely impossible.

Who would be the penalty takers for each side, and are United fans confident the team could do it?

100-1 for either team to win on pens. Could be worth a fiver for the laugh

I'm starting to feel sick with excitment :o

100-1 is worth a punt, where did you see that? betfair?

If they travel, trained and where past fit then they should play, all players take the risk of getting injured very time they play .if they are fit play them and stop what ifffs or the may be's.

I think the key tonight is stopping Kaka.
I feel he was their best player, really their only player, against us last week.
I think Rio can shackle him.
Just look at his goals last week, the first one, Rio would have matched him for pace, the second goal, Rio would have organised the defense a lot better and it would have been cleared.
Kaka is immense, but when your threat is coming from really one main player, it's solvable if you have good defenders.

i think what you meant to say was might

Milan are a class above. Jim Beglin called it.

United just need to keep the ball. A chance will come.

Ronaldo is giving no cover to Heinze, far too much room down that side for Milan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,005 ✭✭✭CivilServant

Depends on what kind of milan we see second half. They can shut united down if they have the legs for it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,494 ✭✭✭ronbyrne2005

Game over! Got milan to win on betfair earlier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

    Defensive cock-up strikes again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭besty

    FFS Heinze.

Ok, come on, lets get the finger out. I hope it's not too late

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭Erin Go Brath

Great composure by Seedorf to put that one away. Milan are on fire!! Uniteds defence is not up to scratch. They could be 4-0 down by half time.

Milan are giving the English champions elect a lesson in football thus far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,371 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

United's away form in the Champions league has been awful over the last few years and so it continues tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,514 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Heinze...why oh why does SAF continue to pick him. Just remember '99 lads, and the semi-final against Juventus. Werent they 2-0 then too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Utd need a goal before half time, or at least some better possession.

    Pirlo is running the show

I wouldnt say its over yet. United are well capable of coming back. If they keep up the shambolic defending it will be over soon though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

It's only 2-0 lads, Liverpool came back at 3-0, and Utd came back against Everton last weekend.

A bit of belief in your team.

AC Milan will tire last 30 minutes. It's not over until the final whistle goes.

    ****ing hell!!!
Jim Beglin's right, this should be over! How do Milan have so much space? Fergie swap Ronaldo and Giggs onto their natural sides and bring Evra on as a more threatening full back...
