Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Are there any pro wrestlers who could successfully compete in mixed martial arts events such as pride or ufc. i don't think so.

Nope I don't think so either. Angle goes on and on about how he would like to fight people in UFC, but even though he has some grappling skills, I would think he wouldn't have a stand up game and every fight starts standing up.

    Brock Lesnar. ;)

No. The fact is that wrestling and MMA are completely different. I'm sure that there's plenty of wrestlers who could become very good MMAists with a lot of years of training under them, but so could many other people. There are a few guys in Japan who've made successful careers doing MMA and wrestling, but they've mainly been MMA guys crossing over to wrestling from time to time

I have high hopes for Brock, he's done the smart thing and has been training for a long time now. I wouldn't trust Angle to do the same thing and I find it hard to believe most of the stuff he says these days

    Ken Shamrock? Steve Blackman?
You are not comparing like with like. Wrestlers are pretty much entertainers, hence the name WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment.
How many ufc competitors could be good pro wrestlers? (apart from ken Shamrock)

They are 2 different things that require different skills. With a lot practice and training, who knows.

To answer who from MMA would be good in pro-wrestling?

Based on personality, Randleman, Ortiz, Rampage Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Phil Baroni spring to my mind once they trained.

Josh Barnett and Dan Severn have done pro-wrestling too. Never seen Barnett, but Severn's awful

I had to laugh, I was reading a thread on an MMA forum about Barnett. Someone said they don't like him because he wants MMA to be more like pro-wrestling. They went on and said that he thinks there should be good guys and bad guys and that there should be some sort of stories brought into the fights. So all the MMA fans start slaggin Barnett about it. But the thing is, the ppvs with the most buys are the ones with faces and heels and some sort of story going on!

These are the same MMA fans who said no one wanted to see Ortiz and Shamrock the third time. Some of them just don't get it.

Just to point out - not all wrestlers are involved in Sports Entertainment. WWE is not the be all and end all of pro wrestling.

Of course there are some exceptions(there generally are ones to everything) but for the most part I dont think that many pro wrestlers would become sucessful mma fighters or vice versa. The two are very different sports but it seems like often they are made to seem like they are not

Most ufc competitors could become good pro wrestlers but that would be a waste of their talent.

How much do you know about pro-wrestling? Because let's just say that I've got a hunch that it's not a whole lot

Marathon Man banned for breaking the charter. If you're not a fan of wrestling and you're being narrow-minded, then there is no need for us to put up with you here
