ripping music from a dvd

hows it goin?i got a dvd with some albums from a mate and im wonderin how i go about saving them in the windows media player as they wont work if the disc is taken out.thanks.

Ripping music from a DVD using DVDShrink is illegal.

I use iTunes, but as far as I know all you have to do is "copy" the files from the dvd drive {go to my computer and click on the drive} and "paste" them to your computer - in "My Documents" for example.

I think they should play then.

I've a similar issue, I've music dvd (video) of a live gig and I want to listen to the music only from the dvd only on my ipod.

is it a video or data dvd?

it's a video. I know the dvd video splits music and image into 2 folders but I'm not sure if that's any use.

Grand I guess I'll have to try it out, I hate messing with those dvd rippers, it's never that easy, especially the trial versions, there's usually very limited functionality. I'll report back with my findings, I think I should have bought the CD and not the DVD of the music, I'll never watch it.:rolleyes:
