Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Restore points are only set to use a percentage of disk space never all of it 15% tops after that it auto deletes old restore points to make way for newer ones.

The disk cleanup utility in Vista will remove all restore points on the system bar the newest - check the more options tab and it would be a good idea ot run that utility as well to clean out any temp folders.

In Vista you there is no UI to alter the amount of space used but you can change it via the command line.

Right click computer, go to properties. Click "system protection" on the left. This brings up the system properties window on the system restore tab - uncheck the drives that you don't want it creating restore points on.

the disc clean up thing was brilliant, it got rid of 3GBs of stuff, 2.1GBs were thumbnails of photos, thats insane.

Restore and shadowcopy are the main culprits here , there are commands to reduce how much space either uses , heres a link , if you are losing as much space again as the C drive currently holds its most likely shadowcopy thats taking most of it !!

    http://www.watchingthenet.com/how-to-reduce-disk-space-used-by-windows-vista-system-restore.html

Heres a couple of screen snips from my computer taken just a few seconds ago , as you can see shadowcopy is using double the actual file storage space ... When it gets too full I will probably use the above command , but its a safety net for now.
