    Any ideas on how to get rid of some wild pidgeons . I dont want to harm them but would like to move them on.

    kill a pigeon and hang it up in your back garden it will scare the others away.farmers do it for their crops

    Sorry, but the old dead pigeon trick does not work and is a bit of a myth. Noise is about the only guanateed means of scaring them away, but may not be feasible if you have neighbours. A scarecrow is somewhat effective but they can get used to it. Try hanging old CDs from the scarecrow.

    The dead bird one works for crows, used on golf courses and by farmers..
    Pidgeons are probably too stupid to realise...

    They are probably left there fron people shooting, as opposed to being put there for a purpose.
    Wood piegons are easily scared. They fly away or refuse to land at the slighest sight of a person. Hanging an irregular reflective object could simluate movement, CDs was a good example.
    If you are living in a city then its a different story Im afraid, those lands are as hard as nails and your stuck with them
