No thats just max recommended by intel. You can go higher at your own risk.

Is that what your looking for?

Whats the highest you can go on air? Also whats a safe temp to have at its highest?

they seem be nott the best clockers but saying that one guy there got a week 36a to 2.9ghz sooooo:confused::confused::confused:

why is mine not suppose to overclock that easily? Im kinda confused:rolleyes:

Im running ORTHOS on it now at home will check that in about 12 hours when I get home ill post up screen shots.

It was getting around 50 - 53 degrees!

Both games HL2 and BF2 were getting me max 48 so I guess thats grand I wont be doing 100% on it anyway like normally.

Thats still acceptable for a 12 hour torture test. You might be able to push it even further still.

    Im too scared :(

HL2 Episode 1 crashes after awhile and windows sends me to the steam powered fourms where it says overclocking causes it to crash..

Ive finished it now though so I dont mind

Is there any advantage to having a lower multiplier and a higher bus speed?

Yep, you get increased memory bandwidth. Also take not most EA games tend to crash on overclocks too.

epsiode 1 is badly made allways craches.

Whats the Tjunction? is it your northbridge?? Its looking very hot man, you may want to consider getting some better cooling for it, you wouldnt want to be concentrating on keeping the cpu cool and then something on the board blows.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

What does anyone get out of the stock cooler? I have one and right now I'm just running my 6400 at 2.25Ghz as opposed to the stock 2.13...seems fine obviously given the small increase, but to be honest I don't want to bother with a new cpu cooler as my board (neo-f) is crap for overclocking so I might just get a new one when I can afford it later... so it'd be great to hear what people have accomplished with the stock cooler.

My tjunction is at 85 also. It's when the processor shuts down when it gets too hot but I have no idea how its measured or what the 85 means....

No the tjunction is when the processor shuts off from overheating! But again I've no idea what the 85 means in relation to it.

O really?? then perhaps teh processor shuts off when it reachs 85C? although that seems quite hot for a CPU.
