Best value Credit Card for the light user

    Hi,
    Just wondering what would be the best value credit card on the market for a light user (occasional online purchases and rare holidays etc)

    If you're going to pay it off in full every time you use it then it doesn't make a difference really. You'll be hit with the 40 Euro government stamp duty every April on them all and interest on purchases isn't relevent if you pay them off.

    don't get a 3V it's worst value card (if I can even call it a card, because it is a virtual card)

    I suggest you get a real mastercard/visa, if you pay if off in time it will only cost you EUR 40 pa govt stamp duty

    have a look at your banks website, and apply for the CC

    (warning His Excellency Eddie Hobbs says credit must be used carefully, as tempting as it can be to buy junk on ebay/persian carpets you do have to pay it back)

    also take into account what use you hae for it. Some credit cards don't charge a cash advance fee if your card is in credit, can be very hady abroad. Think the financial regulator has a cost survey wrt credit card companies.

    but don't believe everything you read in those surveys, the "facts" in the tables can be wrong for example they say that the AIB Student Plus account can have a chequebook, when in reality it cannot.
