Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nicky Colgan - Barnsley
Wayne Henderson - Preston North End
    Colin Doyle - Birmingham City

    Stephen Kelly - Birmingham City
    Paul McShane - WestBromwichAlbion
Sean St Ledger - Preston North End
    Alex Bruce - Ipswich Town
    Derek Geary - Sheffield Utd
    Joseph O’Cearuill - Arsenal
    John O’Shea - Manchester United

    Kevin Kilbane - Wigan Athletic
    Darren Potter - Wolves
    Stephen Ireland Manchester City
    Stephen Hunt - Reading
    Alan O’Brien - Newcastle United
    Liam Miller - Sunderland

    Kevin Doyle - Reading
    Shane Long – Reading
    Caleb Folan - Wigan Athletic
    Daryl Murphy - Sunderland
    Stephen Elliott - Sunderland
    Anthony Stokes - Sunderland
    Andy Keogh - Wolves

Strange squad. Miller seems to be the only player capable of playing the holding role, maybe Potter. And why Kilbane?

No room for O Dea, Rowlands, Kennedy or McCarthy?

Hope he gives Doyle his game, havent really seen much of him myself but hes been making himself know, apparently Arsenal have their eye on him. Would like to see this opportunity to try out Stokes in a harmless game seeing as he hasnt set Sunderland alight as was expected.

As for Kilbane, hes had his bad patches but Id rate him as relatively on form right now tbh. 3 goals in the current campaign? His general play hasnt been bad either. Id give McShane his game and all, he hasnt impressed me all that much since his brilliant form against the Czechs that night, hopefully he will get the fire back in these.

Lots of strikers but no right wingers O_o

Maybe Staunton is planning on a 4-3-3 setup.

I don't mean that. If you're going to call up Kilbane where's Carsley, Given, Dunne, Keane, etc. We've nothing to learn from Kilbane.

    Great stuff.

    I love this guy.

I'd doubt some of McShane, Keogh, Potter or O'Shea will go.

McShane / Keogh / potter involved in the play-offs and definetely 1 maybe 2 will be in the final and O'Shea has Cup final on May19th.

Is Geary a RB or LB?

    What a fecking awful squad.

I have tickets (which I paid a 10 dollar service charge for.......EACH!!!) but I'm kinda sorry now.

Where is Connolly... he's still a far better player than Folan. He's not world class but he scores at every level he plays.

The defence is a joke and I can see south americans breezing throught that midfield.

So thats Whelan, Connolly, Rowlands, Kennedy and McCarthy not goin. Morrison will probably never play for Ireland again either.

    Stephen Elliott - Sunderland

Has this guy been playing at all? I'd forgotten he existed.

He's been injured for most of the season. He was very impressive last month against Southampton before having to go off at half time.

WTF do rowlands and Whelan have to do to get a call up?

I liked the look of Shane Long vs. Slovakia, glad he's included again as well as Rory Gallagher / Stephen Hunt. Alan O'Brien was our only decent player vs. Holland, lotsa pace and ery direct, hope he gets a chance at Newcastle or somewhere else next season...not a bad young squad in my view! Lots of potential there, should be a good experience for the lads

scandalous decision, one of the few players in the Irish setup to play every week and also get player of the season from his club!!

Apparantly Stan wants to try out a 5-4-1.

Excuse my ignorance but has Joseph O Cearuill or Derek Geary ever played a senior game for their clubs? Ive never heard of them

Who is this McCarthy lad people wanted in the team? Hardly that lad off Hamilton?

derek geary plays for sheffield united and definitely has played a number of times this season.however he is pretty poor in my opinion.i know stan is trying out lots of fellas but geary is not of international standard at all. i have no idea how the lad is playing premiership football....

Only noticed 34yr old Nick Colgan is also in the side. I really think his international career is over ( 8 caps in 5 years). Id prefer to see the likes of Shane Supple getting some experience
