Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Questions about nLite

i want to make a cd of windows xp with service packs and updates integrated, i know about 'update /s' but i heard about nLite being more practical, and also autopatcher

i prefer the idea of using nLite without installation of autopatcher, my question is, i assume it matters the order in which updates are installed.
what would some of you here recommend doing?

    thanks

Check out MSFN and the different option packs for nLite,

I have updated my WinXP CD to include up to Jans updates and then its a case of updating once its online quickly.

nLite has quite a few excellent options such as helping you automate the install process

I've been looking at nLite too since I'll be changing hardware eventually, and I've tweaked XP so much that it usually takes me ages to do them all again after a clean install!
(I doubt ghosting the XP install from an AMD machine to a Core 2 Duo machine will work, heh)
Can you add non XP related programs to it I wonder? Like Firefox and my profile? That would be neato.

I also must learn how to write registry changing files to do all my registry tweaks in one. ;)

And can you add an Autopatcher file to it? As a hotfix? Or do they have to be individually added, otherwise I might wait until SP3, hurry up MS!

Yup there are packs for that that you can integrate in, with the likes of antiovirus, acrobat etc etc ,...

I have a version which installs my device drivers, .net frameworks, acrobat, office 2003 (with current sps), and avgfree

Very handy.. I also have set the desktop in a certain way. You can get very creative
