Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey, my boss has just informed me that there are new legislations involving auto signatures, and that we need to have the senders name company address and registered vat number etc,

is there a way of setting this from exchange 2003 without buying extra software. or is there any free software we can stick on exchange.

I don’t mind buying something cheap enough if it does the job.....

So that all mails go outbound with a tail message on them, and the user can just add their name and department etc....
any help would be really appreciated

    Nope :)

Well, perhaps. I remember searching for this a while back, and I found a programming solution whereby you could compile a plug-in into the outgoing SMTP connector. I couldn't get it to work at the time - I think what I had found was for Ex 5.5. I also wasn't overly crazy about messing with a live exchange system at a programming level.

I downloaded the 30-day trial of GFI Mail Essentials, which is a pretty damn good piece of software.
It's not cheap though, especially if you're running a big operation. That said, if you're totally managing your email in-house, then it could be a big headache saver.

there was a registry hack in 5.5 to add a disclaimer - no need for VB

serious deep breath time, and forget about the formatting characters they don't really work well. IMSEXT.DLL - doesn't work in 2003

    for 2003

slipstick has a list of utilities here http://www.slipstick.com/addins/content_control.htm

don't forget to check the wording - I personally feel that any disclaimer that says anything about "if you wern't the intended recipient.." to be null and void since I'd only see it if the email was specifically sent to my address and that proves no due care and attention on their part.

An alternative is to add a rule to the login script, to write and overwrite the default outlook files.

The Outlook signatures are stored in
    \Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures
in txt, html and rtf form.

so overwrite them using some vb script.

Working with the smtp connector won't affect mails sent through mapi, as mentioned on the MS links Capt'n provided, which is probably the issue Seamus hit.

Also agree with his advice on the content of the signature.
I went with the UK based advice from
