Got some sick pics there, do you submit them to magazines? They're good enough for a mag.

  • Registered Users Posts: 494 ✭✭paudie

    Cheers.
Nah, I'm a surf photographer and I submit those to mags, not skating though. Although I might start, the guy in the shots is a wicked photog.

His stuff is here he got some shots the next day but he hasn't put them up yet.

Another f*ckin modular set-up WITH metal transition plates!!! (AKA 'Bacon slicers')
Jayzus some people will never learn

(No disrespect to da locals or da photog, but I KNOW that there were other BETTER tenders submitted than this sh*te)
With Lahinch only out da road, I'm sure a transition-based flowy park woulda gone down really well - might've cost a bit more, but concrete WILL LAST.

    Another clueless council:mad:

Dude...nice pictures. Would you let me use any of those pictures on my website for irish skateparks? You can PM me your details so I can credit you for them. If you have one overall picture I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks!!!
I have the URL and all registered - just need the photos. I just can't get to all the parks.

BTW...what camera & flash do you use?

I hear ya, but I wasn't party of the group who lobbyed for the park so I'm not in a position to complain.
Either way I'm still going to skate it :)

    Yeah, looks like GBH/Skatestone
    - they're certainly doin a good selling job round the country....

Funny how OUR councils are happier to IMPORT foreign modular components from Germany than to build from IRISH concrete????

    'Buy Irish' my arse

Its ridiculous for us to expect councils to actually know anything about skateparks, but personal experience has shown me that only the exceptional ones will actually ASK for help/input.

End result: people who don't know what they're doing are making decisions for people they don't know,
while spending money that's not even theirs!!!

In the 'real world' these public sector twats would be fired.
Gombeen Ireland is alive & well

Here's a press release I got sent about the opening day of this so called skatepark which was on yesterday.Apparently Rodney Jones did a demo but don't know how that went / if the rain stayed off.I'm sure Rodney was well impressed with a pile of biscuit tins dumped in a carpark. Oh sorry I must be wrong "The new Skateboard Park is designed to the
highest standard and will prove challenging for skaters of different
levels of skill." who am I to argue with skatepark expert Joe Reidy the Mayor of Ennis. Muppets.

IRELAND'S NEWEST SKATEBOARD PARK TO BE OPENED IN ENNIS, COUNTY CLARE

Ennis, County Clare, IRELAND, Mon 11th June 07 - County Clare's first
specifically designed and purpose built Skateboard Park will be
officially opened in Ennis this week.

The Skateboard Park, located in Lees Road Sports and Amenity Park was
constructed by Sports Surfaces Ireland Limited and designed at a cost
of EUR140,000. Prior to construction, Ennis Town Council was
allocated EUR90,000 by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and
    Local Government.

The official opening by the Mayor of Ennis Councillor Joe Reidy and
the Deputy Mayor of Clare Councillor Brian Meaney will take place on
Saturday 16th June at midday. To celebrate the opening Rodney Jones,
a professional skater from the United States, will provide advice on
skateboarding techniques and will treat skateboarding enthusiasts to
    an exhibition.

The Maryland-native has been skateboarding and competing since he was
ten years old. Travelling the world to compete, Rodney finished
second in the 2002 West 49 Canadian Skateboard Open, 2nd in the 2002
World Cup in Prague, and 3rd in the 2002 Gravity Games. Since then
he has graced every skateboard magazine and has landed parts in
various skate videos. Rodney is also dedicated to giving back to
children by teaching skate camps in the summer and doing
demonstrations and autograph signings whenever possible. He
continues to inspire skateboarders of all ages.

Speaking in advance of the official opening, Councillor Joe Reidy,
Mayor of Ennis said "The new Skateboard Park is designed to the
highest standard and will prove challenging for skaters of different
    levels of skill."

In welcoming the new facility, Councillor Brian Meaney, Deputy Mayor
of Clare stated, "The new facility adds another dimension to the
attractiveness and public appeal of the Lees Road Sports and Amenity
Park. The design and layout of the Skateboard Park is very impressive
and will no doubt be enjoyed by skaters of all ages."

According to Eddie Power, Ennis Town Council, "The Skateboard Park in
Ennis is the first European venture for US manufacturing company
Skatewave Products. Landscape Structures Inc want to promote the
features of this park and highlight its potential to accommodate
    highly skilled and experienced skaters."

The Lees Road Sports and Amenity Park, which is located on a site of
approximately 134 acres of woodland at Drumcliffe, consists of four
conventional playing pitches, a floodlit all-weather pitch, a cross
country running track and woodland amenity walks. The site is
complimented by an accommodation building that includes eight dressing
rooms, offices, toilets and storage. Since its opening in June 2005,
the facility has been further complemented by the construction of an
access road, woodland walkways and parking facilities. Meanwhile,
further developments are scheduled to take place at Lees Road Sports
and Amenity Park including County Clare's first synthetic running
    track.
