Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Jesus h christ on a pike. I got the album from mars to sirus by gojira yesterday on a whim and its been on repeat ever since. Honestly ive never been impressed by a band this much since i started listening to dream theather.

Anyone who hasnt checked theese guys out do so now, or you havent lived your metal life.

Flying Whales? I trust you mean the album 'From Mars To Sirius'?

Either way, phenominally good album. I was extremely impressed when I heard 'The Heaviest Matter In The Universe' and I absolutely had to run out and buy the album.

I think they sound somewhere between Morbid Angel and Mastodon.

The album's called From Mars To Sirius, but Flying Whales is the best song off it and nearly worth the price on it's own anyway. Get Terra Incognita then The Link!

[edit]Dang karl beat me to it

yup i was listening to that song at the time, and all i was telling people all day was god dammit listen to the song flying whales by gojira. I feel like a preist trying to convert the masses.

And yes i concur that flying whales is the best song on the album, but to be fair i dont think theres a weak song on it. My freind summed them up as "mastadon but not ****" i had to laugh even if ive grown accustomed to mastadon cause 6 months ago its exactly what i woulda said.

I see them as meshuggah meets doom metal meets mastadon myself. Still the album is nothing short of genious.

to be honest i cant see how they could play on a bill with trivium, its not like its not a great slot to get cause lets face it. trivium = lots of fresh faced metal people but god damm there just so much a different style to them.

From Mars to sirius is fantastic. Really heavy but very melodic at the same time. What are their earlier albums like? I have not stopped listening to From Mars to sirius since I got it. Bastard child of Opeth and Mastodon.............
