    Not sure if this is the right place but Im looking for software to work with a small business telesales/support section. Ive seen systems were a customer calls in and their account automatically opens with all their history etc and also the operators can also see calls on queue

    A package made by IBM called Tivoli is used at a good few call centre's.

    The connection between you phone and computer that you would need to get this working is called "TAPI"

    If you have a tapi compliant phone system and tapi compliant software (i.e. Goldmine or Microsoft Access??(I think)) and most likely a server to tie ext 200 -> Reception computer you should be able to do it.
