It wouldn't surprise me if he were to just retire at the end of whatever season and not have all the fuss.

Was the BOD stuff really all that fussy? ROG didn't get one because he didn't get picked, I can't see that happening to POC.

Tbf, it's not like O'Driscoll initiated all this fuss - the media interest in when he was going to retire has been going on for years so they were always going to make a huge deal out of it. And, as one of the player of his generation who has been an amazing ambassador for the sport, I don't begrudge him the lap of honour.

BOD will have another lap of honour after the match on Saturday and other one after his last game for leinster, possibly had one after the lions test too i imagine

Ray thinks the sun shines out of Drico and Amy's arse so I doubt he had an issue with it.

I don't know if it shines out of Amy's arse but I'd love to find out

He's moving to NT. Heard him on with Tony Fenton this evening. Think he said he'd be on Sundays, so perhaps he's taking over OTB at the weekend or something.

He is doing commentary on the Spurs Arsenal game from London this weekend for starters.

Oh course Ray is going on about food and his "I'm better than you " attitude. It's actually boring at this stage. He should stop making people feel so crap about themselves just because he's a health freak

Oh goody, Ray is talking about sugar again!

Ray ought to get an aul sandwich or bag of chips into him. Look at him. Looks far too skinny. It says it all when he decides to cycle to Kilkenny before some awards show down there. Who in their right mind does that. I get the impression Cupid Kelly couldn't be arsed with all that but Ray forces her to run 10k on a Saturday morning.

I just groaned when he started with the sugar thing this morning. He's not informing, he's pontificating. It's just another D'Arcy crusade. He was also giving out about parents using mobile phones in front of their kids this morning.

Be thankful you're not one of his kids, (think he may have 2).

that's why he wants to live to 120- to see his youngest get married

If Kate gets married in a church Ray probably won't turn up as he's against the Catholic Church.

He looks 70 in that pic, so he's getting there fast.

    Sugar, cancer, babies, depression, rugby.

    And repeat.

This sugar thing is getting very annoying.

All joking aside, there is no original content on this show anymore, it's a complete parody of itself

The problem is that he is making sugar his number one enemy but I think an awful lot of the time he's confusing correlation with causation.

Obese people are probably more likely to consume fizzy drinks but the cause of their obesity is not the fizzy drink, it's their eating habits and the fact that they consume more than the burn off.

You'd swear sugar was worse than crack the way he was talking.

To a guy who smokes, drinks and lives on Coco pops and chips and drives everywhere.

This says it all about the man. For his wedding he didn't want to have any sort of stag. Through much persuasion he eventually decided to have a night out. He wanted it only to be him, the groomsman and the best man. The three of them to go to the cinema, get dinner and be home before midnight.

Exactly. For years there was a school of thought that coffee contributed to cancer but it was more a case of correlation (combined with half-assed studies) as people that drank coffee were more likely to smoke, or the people in the half-assed studies were.

He's trying to create a bogey man out of sugar. It's overall diet that's the problem. There is no such thing as "bad foods" only "bad diets"

I didn't like the way he was playing snippets of the Irish professor to the other guy hoping for him to become as outraged as Ray. The Irish professor was just saying that we shouldn't focus on one item like soft drinks, why not talk about people that put sugar into their tea?

He's really annoying me on this one.

I don't drink so if I ever did decide to get married I definitely wouldn't have a stag. To be honest a trip to the cinema and a meal with a few mates sounds great to me, the effort of being the focus of attention on something like a stag ... urgh

Yeah, I thought the way he was playing the snippets of the Irish professor was ridiculous. The professor seemed to be talking sense but Ray edited as much as he could to make it sound bad.

He's talking about leadership from the government in terms of our diet. Ffs…

Now he wants rid of porn!!!!! Where will this madness end take the sugar but leave the porn

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,375 ✭✭✭✭kunst nugget

Denny are sponsoring his quiz. I'm pretty sure that they are major contributors to our obesity problem and I think Ray should declare them the number one enemy. Many a morning I've seen poor builders being tied down and force fed breakfast rolls - when will the government step in and sort this out for us?
