Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    www.djhistory.com/forum

these guys wrote a book which is by and large considered the best summarisation of the effect the DJ has had on music since the first guy put a needle to a record and broadcast the result 100 years ago. its called Last Night a DJ Saved My Life and if there was a course you could take for studying up on DJ history this book would be number one on the list of required reading.

the forum is pretty good too with more than a few a members who have been or are at the moment involved in the industry.

I hop onto DMI the odd time, the odd appearance on irishdrumandbass.com and bodytonic forums.

Is the bad man forcing you to be here?

No he isn't. I come here of my own volition, no bad man involved.

Yeah it has gone fairly quiet recently with just the same old threads being replied to  maybe with the summer it may become busier, doesn't help when certain posts are not allowed.

I just had a quick look and they were openly sharing links to download cracked versions of Ableton! You wouldn't last 10 seconds if you tried that here lol.

Don't get me wrong mate I'm up for free speech as much as anyone, I'm just so used to the Boards policy of if you even mention anything that might quite possibly be slightly illegal or even immoral in any way you immediately get slapped around the place and told not to do it again with threats of bannings!

With such free reighn I'm even more tempted to go check it out now...

DMI aren't big enough to bother sueing (and also aren't as public as Boards - you need to sign up to read them)

    http://www.livesets.com/

Download sets til the sun comes down, and has a constantly bangin' streaming radio!

Here's a couple of other gems for music lovers:

Loads of streaming sets from top dj's:
    http://www.jhosted.com/

And this is one of my favourite sites on the web:
    Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music>> http://www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html

Lists ALL types of electronic music going from Electro Boogie back in the 70's to all sorts of mad sh*t today like Nu Style Gabber (RTC anyone??), Speedcore (Ridiculous), Glitchcore, Terrorcore.. the list goes on!
Gives samples of each type of genre, really fun site :D
