Several games have nothing at stake so it could be hard to guess the team selection. Liverpool and Man Utd will proberly play a 50/50 mix. Most eyes on Man Utd/West Ham & Sheffield Utd/Wigan I guess.

Agree. West Ham are in great form (not that the champs aren't of course), playing great football - and will want this so much more. Expect Ferguson not to put out a full strength side and, ultimately, the team that needs it so much more will come out on top.

i can see manu beating them easily

last game at home, players playing for places in teh cup final, getting the trophy afterwards..

Have a feeling united will do wigan a favour and Wigan will get themselevs the all important win putting the hammers down. Aghahowa to score his first for Wigan!

Pool will put out a fairly strong team id say, the stronger players that play could be a hint for Rafa's ideas for the final as this will be the last chance for game time before it.

i cant see wigan getting anything tbh, sheffield united to win that game, making the old trafford game irrelevant for west ham.

I think Sheffield United to go down at 7-1 is a good bet. West Ham are well capable of a draw and Wigan well capable of doing Sheffield up in Sheffield.

If United are 3 or more up on the Hammers tomorrow with about 20 mins left, Wigan might suddenly happen to win. Stranger things have happened. It'd be too risky under most circumstances though, so probably idle chatter.

I'm very torn to be honest.
You see, I really want revenge over West Ham after they denied us the trophy.
But, I like how they play football, their ambition, and their general philosophy, so I'd rather they stay up than Sheffield United or Wigan.
It's a toughie. Also, I want Ronaldo to score a hattrick to win the highest scorer thing.

neil warnock has really gotten on my nerves this year, so it wouldnt sadden me to see sheffield united go down. i kinda feel sorry for wigan and paul jewell, even though they have been total crap this year, playing awful stuff. i like curbishly, so id like if west ham stayed up. but it looks like wigan are doomed, i honestly cant see them winning at bramall lane. though, strangers things have happened!

on another note, apparantly there are plans for the members of the 56-58 bubsy babes to bring the trophy onto the pitch after the game today. very fitting and will be emotional for alot, considering its the 50 anniversary this year of them winning the league and also, the munich crash's 50th anniversary is next february.

I'd like West Ham to win/draw and have Wigan get the victory from Sheff Utd thus beating them on gd. Wonder if Rafa has any desire to secure 3rd at all? Though it is Charlton at home so it should be an easy one.
I don't understand this revenge thing Utd supporters are on about, if ye keep harping on about quality football you should really want West Ham to stay up and let them beat you! :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭aidan24326

Goal difference could yet be crucial. West Ham's is the worst, so if Wigan were to win at Sheff Utd (not out of the question) then the Hammers have to get something at Old Trafford, and I don't think they will. That said I can see Sheff Utd getting at least a draw and sending Wigan down.

Strange that Wigan have ended up here after being comfortable mid table around Christmas. They went to pieces the last 3 or 4 months and can have no complaints if they go down now. Watched them the day they lost 0-3 at home to West Ham and they looked like a team on the way down tbh. Still you never know, I don't think anyone would be putting the mortgage on Sheffield United to do the business either! Guess that's why these teams are down where they are.

The fixtures hsould be doen every season so that the 6 or 8 most likely teams to be in the bottom 6 or 8 play each other on the last day. Engineered excitment is the order of the day.

Hopefully Wigan beat Sheff Utd and West Ham get at least a draw.

well neil warnock just went up a notch in my book: richard keyes asked him what he makes of player like scholes,..., ferdinand, being left out.

warnock replied: "well i am quite pleased ferdinand isnt playing"

    brilliant!!!

    lol - nice reply!

I am disappointed with the United line up. I can understand it in a way, with Rio and Vidic only just coming back from knocks, but i would have preferred a full strength side; not least to celebrate winning the title.

First time I've seen Arsenal on RTE - typically it's a completely meaningless game.

Arsenal have the most bizarre line-up I've seen in a long time from Wenger:

    Poom

    Hoyte -- Toure -- Senderos -- Clichy

    Eboue -- Djourou - Fabregas -- Hleb

    Baptista ---- Diaby

what a second half of the season he's having! Seems to be the only one who really gives a **** about keeping them up!

Fowler had a great chance a min ago, put it just wide from a great through ball by Gerrard. It'll come though!

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,049 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

I really cant believe that Man U are not in front in this game. The amount of change which we have had in this first half, we should be about 3 up by now. A lucky goal from west ham , but as said already VDS should really have done better.

Which of the big four to score first today? None in the first 45, that must be rare.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,080 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

hehe thats true Pepe. My money'd be on Pool or United, probably United. I Still expect both to come from behind and win their respective games though.
Both teams shoudl come out all guns blazing for a good send off for the fans.

Is anyone watching the Chelsea game? whats going on in that? Bore Draw?

Tevez won me a score, woohoo :D

I say United will still win it..... 10 shots on goal (albeit few on target), playing good football, and keeping the pressure on WH. Combine that with the strong bench and I'd guess Utd 3-2 WH.
