Recommendations on NTL

Am considering moving to them, are they ok? Do they block filesharing / streaming tv channels? Cheers

Yes, and there were several references to NTL, however as none of these answered my questions i made my post.

Should provide you with plenty of recent material on NTL traffic shaping.

As for restrictions on TV streaming, no problems apart from the restrictive
and ambiguous usage caps (changing cap from download to upload+download)

They are getting roundly slammed in this Adamstown forum

for their dire customer service....and Adamstown is all spanking new cables too.

NTL should never have shut down their call centre in Waterford and transferred their poor customers to the Chorus call centre instead.

I have NTL broadband in Dublin and there have been some issues in terms of performance and technical problems although for the most part it's been ok.

If you ever have a technical support problem don't hold your breath. It is really and truly appalling. I worked for some time as a customer service manager and i know how the business works, and doesn't work sometimes, but I have never experienced anything like the sheer lack of service from NTL.
