Its about time i got a new PC but im not too sure what way to go about it.

I could get one from dell or PCWorld something like that or i could build my own...lol
i think thats funny because i aint got the first clue on what to do to build my own.

I need a good PC my budget is around 2.000 i would be using it mostly for
encoding video and i need that to be done fast.

Iv read that is fairly straight forward to build your own but is there any advise
anyone can give me before i start even thinking of doin it myself.

That will do the job nicely, you don't need the 8800GTS unless it's for games.

I'd go with the Corsair value RAM over the OCZ as OCZ can be quirky on some boards whereas the Corsair for a first time builder is much less likely to cause any headaches. Also you don't need the Seasonic M12 700W unless your planning on putting in even more high end graphics the 600W or 500W model will power all that hardware just fine. Finally the Abit motherboard based on the nForce 680i is somewhat excessive any P965 chipset will do the job and a lot cheaper for your needs.

There is an excellent guide here that covers building.

It's not too difficult as long as you read over the manuals and take your time you wont have any problems and if you do you can always ask here for any help.
