Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mount directories with a space in its name

    I'm trying to mount some Windows directories on my Ubuntu machine through adding them to /etc/fstab.

    Most are working, but I'm wondering how to do it for directories with a space in their name such as "Work Folder"

    I know I can do it through calling a script at startup and using "/server/work folder" but since I've most of them setup through /etc/fstab at this stage I was wondering if there is a way to do it.

    /Work\ Folder/ should work.

    You just need to type Work\ Folder

    EDIT: Id say there was split seconds between me and feylya there!

    I get the following error when I try to mount it after doing that

    [mntent]: line 16 in /etc/fstab is bad
    mount: can't find /media/samba/Work folder in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

    Do you have Work Folder created in /media/samba? What's the complete line from fstab?

    Yeah, I have the folder created. Its case sensitive as well

    The line from the fstab is

    //192.168.0.14/Work\ folder /media/samba/Work\ folder cifs username=tom,password=password,auto 0 0

    My password isn't password, I've just edited it for here. This structure works for other directories mounted off the same server that don't contain a space, so its not that. I'm using CIFS because its a Windows Server 2003 machine its mounting from and I've read before SMBFS doesn't support it.

    Are you bearing in mind that linux is case-sensitive? Double-check which words are capitalized...
