Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sound Card Problem

    OS: Vista Home Premium
Sound Card: Creative Audigy 2 Platinum with 5.1 speaker system

    Problem:

I upgraded my RAM today from 1GB to 3GB. I re-connected all the cables after I installed the RAM. There are known issues with Creative soundcards and Vista. For the past few weeks since I got Vista I've been using KX Project drivers & software, I've had no problems with this.
After I restarted my system the problems started. The sound coming from my speakers is crackly and hissy (sp?). I've double checked all speaker and soundcard connections and they're ok.

Could the problem lie with the upgraded RAM??
I've had nothing but trouble with this soundcard since I got it. I think it might be time to invest in a new one that is compliant with Vista. But in the meantime I would like my current soundcard working.

I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    :)

remove the KX Project first then use the creative driver now it is out of beta stage
    and works well on vista

What happens if you take out the new RAM ?

I'm in work at the moment so I can't take the new RAM out.

My motherboard is Intel D945Psn, I did a search on the Intel support site earlier and came upon this.
Fixed issue where Intel® Audio Studio does not launch with 3GB
Memory and certain PCI-E video card.

It might be not be related to my problem but it's interesting all the same. I'm going to update the BIOS later and see if it has any effect. BTW by updating the BIOS is it straight forward or does it effect anything??
