Quick question how does one tell the difference between an active and an index fund? e.g. are Rabbo's funds active or index?

I think I understand the difference in that an active fund is actively managed by an investment manager(who charges nice juicy fees:rolleyes: ) whereas an index fund just mimicks a stock index.

Just not very clear wheter funds such as Rabbo's are active or index?

An index fund will clearly state it attempts to track a particular index.

An actively managed fund will describe it's investment philosophy and possibly compare it's performance to a similar (or not!) index.

I think all Rabo funds are actively managed.
