Sorry way too many photos for me to embed them. These were taken in the PIMA Air Museum, AZ USA, last month.

    Fabulous photos. Thanks for sharing!

Question: are my eyes decieving me, or is that plane near the bottom of the page got 6 engines, and are the blades at the rear of the wing? Appears so, and if it is, is this a rarity? Also wonder how the side is ripped on the NASA plane?

    Again, thanks for sharing them

The engine (and half its fairing) has been removed.

Finally got some fast internet to upload these photos. Davis Monthan AFB is where the US military send their obsolete aircraft for storage, there can be anywhere between 4500-6000 aircraft there. The facility can be toured starting in the PIMA Air Museum but unfortunately rather than using an open top bus for photographers, they have a lovely coach with tinted windows that never stops during the 90 minute tour.
    Hope you enjoy

These are from the Chino Air Museum which is pretty close to LA, the interesting thing about this place is that most of these are flying aircraft.

Here's a few from my trip on Sunday/ Monday of this week. I was lucky enough to enjoy the first class lounge on the outward leg. Full a la carte menu so had a tasty steak instead of hitting the buffet. Had centre aisle seat on the way over and a window on the way back. The window is by far the better. I left of pics of the bar as I had put them up here on a previous trip.

This is a photograph my father took of an airship I presume when it visited Toronto in 1930 as he was 19 years old and living there at the time .
I hope the image is attached .

Shortly before R101's flights in June 1930, the Cardington engineers tentatively suggested that the long flights to Canada and India might be postponed until 1931 on the grounds that neither of the two airships was fit to make a lengthy flight at their current developmental stage.[13] The R100 team replied that their airship was perfectly capable of flying to Canada,[citation needed] and furthermore the Canadian flight was a part of their contract.

R100 departed for Canada on 29 July 1930, reaching its mooring mast at the St-Hubert, Quebec Airport (outside Montreal) in 78 hours, having covered the great circle route of 3,300 mi (5,300 km) at an average ground speed of 42 mph (68 km/h). The airship stayed at Montreal for 12 days with over 100,000 people visiting the airship each day while it was moored there, and a song was composed by La Bolduc to commemorate, or rather to make fun of, the people's fascination with R100. It also made a 24-hour passenger-carrying flight to Ottawa, Toronto, and Niagara Falls while in Canada. The airship departed on its return flight on 13 August, reaching Cardington after a 57½ hour flight.

Not the clearest pic, got quite a surprise (shock even!) when i looked out the window and saw it. Never been that up close to another plane at that altitude.
