Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dual boot WinXP Pro SP2 w/ WinXP Pro SP2

    Hey all,

I need to install two copies of XP Pro SP2 on the one machine (1st for office use and the 2nd for testing)

I am going to use two HDs.

How/what do I configure to give the option to the user to select the OS required?

I would like it to default to the 'office use' instance of XP. Also I would append each OS option with a tag line e.g.

    'Windows XP Pro (Office use)'
    'Windows XP Pro (Test)'

If someone can point to a document (or documents) that shows all of this, 'twould be great.

I have searched google and boards.ie so there is a significant chance I am just over looking it but any help would be appreciated.

    cheers
    j

It isn't free but is probably the easiest route Symantec Partition Magic & Boot Magic will allow you to have completely separate XP installs from each other with a boot menu along with a timer so by default it will boot the Office use version.

Again this can all be done for free the above just makes it easier to do.

    Hey,

Thanks lads. I'll give the free version a go and then hand Symmantec a greasy wad of cash if it doesn't work out.

Might learn something from the free method too.

    Thanks again.

just edit the boot.ini file in the first instance(master) of xp.

that will do what you want.
