    Hi

    Looking for some help!
I've selected these items for my first PC.
Any advice on if it's a good / bad choice?
    Am I missing anything?

    Thanks!

why didn't you use the .ie site?

If you were trying to save money, why don't you try compare the price of what you are getting with komplett or even OcUk?

I was interested in getting a monitor from dabs, but then the price was almost 100 euro more on what komplett had.

Cool thanks I only realised that dabs had a .ie after when I went to checkout (to see delivery costs)

I will check the costs of dabs.ie vs komplett.

But are the actual items compatible etc?

    Thanks

Some of those prices seem overly expensive, main error I see straight off is that you've picked an AGP card instead of a pci-e one...

I'm afraid I couldn't help you with the compatability of the build or suggestions on your hardware :( I only know the basics.

I thought you might of been from the UK, thats why you used the .com site.

Get an SATA drive - most boards from now on will have at most one IDE channel and your DVD drive is something you'll be keeping when you upgrade a few years down the line.

Get a cheaper 6420 and overclock it - you don't have to be a mad haxxor to overclock a core2, and you should get 6700+ speeds out of it.

I'd be inclined to wait a month until the new mid-range radeons come out and see how they perform.

You need a Power supply (that case doesn't come with one). Get an antec 400w psu and that'll have more than enough juice to supply what you're buying. Also, I'd wait a month since Intel will be having a price cut in june, and the new radeon midrange cards will be coming out then. With the price cuts and using a cheaper overclocked processor you should be able to afford an upgrade to a Geforce 8800gts, which will make a bigger difference to you than a 6600 vs 6420 cpu.

    Is This a sound card??
The Asus P5b Deluxe WiFi Board has a built in 7.1 Sound card which is good unless your into sound in a big way!!
I have this board and would recomend it to anyone!!

Also...An extra Gig of RAM wouldnt go astray, especially if your going to run Vista on it. Dont skimp on RAM, its one of the most important components when doing a build.
