Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    From IT
    Newstalk achieves 5% rating

Newstalk radio station achieved a 5 per cent 'reach' of radio listeners in its first six months of national broadcasting, new figures show.

The Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) radio listenership figures for the period April to March 2007 indicate that 85 per cent of the adult population listened daily to a mix of national, regional and local radio.

Listenership to any regional/local station was 55 per cent, down one percentage point, when compared with the previous survey period.

RTÉ Radio 1's reach decreased to 23 per cent, also down one point, while RTÉ 2FM, Today FM and Lyric FM all maintained their reach figures at 18 per cent, 16 per cent and 3 per cent respectively.

Newstalk received its first national figures for the six months covering September 29th to March 31st , achieving a reach figure of 5 per cent.

On market share of the airwaves, the figure for the number of listeners to any regional station decreased by 0.5 per cent to 50.5 per cent in the 7am to 7pm period.

Both RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ 2FM's market share decreased slightly to 20.5 per cent (-0.4) and 12.6 per cent (-0.3) respectively.

Today FM again saw a marginal increase in share to 12.4 per cent (+0.3), while RTÉ Lyric FM's national market share was 1.9 per cent (+0.2). Newstalk's market share for the six months surveyed was 3.2 per cent.

I'd say they'll be quite pleased with 5% from a near standing start, I'll wait for more detailed figures but there's a couple of RTE progs that should be under some pressure I'd say.

    Mike.

Fair play to FM104. Colm & Jim's figures have remained solid. It will be in the next book that the arse falls out of FM104 (if indeed it does!) (But even FM104 people will tell you it will;) )

In all fairness, apart from TodayFM, 2Fm, 98Fm, Spin and Phantom.... FM104 have the best breakfast show in Dublin. Fair play to them! Wonder what will happen in 3 months??

Well done Ray D'arcy he is now firmly in the top 10 most listened shows in the country, Pat Kenny is on a massive slide as is the G. ryan.

Not too bad, ahead of 2FM and Today FM at night..... 0.7% market share, think they'd be ahead of their own predictions at that...

Those figures are for April 06 to March 07. Colm and Jim effectively were at the helm of the breakfast show until Mid to Late January 07. So their figures were up 10,000 on the previous year. (105,000 to 115,000 in Dublin market).

Oh and for the record Marty lost 34,000 listeners throughout the same period Down from 208,000 to 174,000. And people wondered why he got the chop:rolleyes:
