Any feedback on insurance from Sertus?

It's renewal time for me and I've just received a quote from my broker for
a new policy with Sertus Underwriting Ltd
    http://www.sertus.ie/

I've had a look at the proposal and it seems to cover the usual windscreen,
no-claims stepback, personal effects and the excess is €125.
Sertus are coming in at half price what Allianz are quoting for a similar
    fully comprehensive policy.

Whilst I'm delighted with the price, I'm just wondering if there's anything
I'm missing - just wondering if it's too good to be true and what's the
hidden catch! Has anyone had any dealings with them? What are they
like in the event of a claim?

Glad you posted this cos I was looking for this lot (seen them mentioned on a thread in Bargin Alerts forum a while back).

I did a search of Boards via Google and found nothing.
They're undercutting Allianz by over 200 euro - and Allianz
were by far the cheapest last year.

Fully comp insurance for myself and 1 named driver for just over €350,
I'm in shock, happy shock, but still in shock.

I don't think the company actually got a mention by name - just a url link. Could be wrong though.

    Go for it! :)

Is there any way to get an online quote out of them?

@Gran Hermano Is your broker located in the Harolds Cross area?

My broker gave me the exact same offering. Sertus beat Allianz by nearly €200,no brainer really. Off I went to Sertus.:) Like yourself I was wondering if their cover wasn't as good as Allianz but when the broker went through all the boring policy details Sertus actually offered better coverage. Don't ask me what exactly but they beat my old policy in all areas.(maybe breakdown recovery or similar offering) Couldn't find any major holes in policy to warrant the price.
Broker told me that they're new to the Dublin market but have been operating outside of Dublin for a while now.
I'm a nice safe driver;) so no idea what they are like to deal with in the case of an accident.

Tax Man, the broker is indeed in Harold's Cross and I've been with the
for over 7 years as they've given competitive quotes consistently.
I just thought this quote was too competitive, not that I object
to a saving ! Like yourself I've never had a claim and I was just
worried that Murphy's Law would kick in and once I move from
the usual Allianz/Hibernian I'd be stuck claiming from an unknown.

Stephen: Re: getting an quote online, looks like they don't.
Pop onto their site and call one of the brokers that
quote them. Should only be a quick call.

My mam was with them. Only 2 years ago they wouldn't insure:

Anyone under 40 (proposer or named)
    Any provisional driver
    Anyone with claims

Yeah I find brokers give me crazy expensive prices compared to ringing the companies myself. Although that said, www.insure.ie aren't too bad.

    They're not indeed.

470 quid on a two litre car is very competitive (and about a hundred less than I paid last week )

Still, the other half's insurance is up soon...

Just used that site for fun ie not all details exactly correct and get between 430 and 540 for my 1.8 audi. Thats about what I'd expect from my current deal come renewal time.

    Mike.

I checked that against my current insurer (FBD who I have been with for 4 years) and they come in 100 above. I haven't been able to find a better renewal for myself than FBD yet and they have an office in my town which is worth at least €50 to me :)
