Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Im sure that in the past when i have done a repair installation. ie. pressed r after loading the windows cd at boot-time, its just gone and replaced the core system files.

However, I have a machine here that goes into the recovery console. Now it is not the correct windows cd but there both xp professional.

AFAIK pressing R always goes to the recovery console. I had to do it about 50 times a few months ago. Just don't press R then it's pretty self explanatory - you select the existing installation you want to repair. If your XP CD is a very early one (pre-SP2) and the installation has been fully updated then you may encounter some other problems. IE the early XP CD wont recognise the SP2 XP then its trying to install over. Major PIA. You may need to use another computer to slipstream SP2 and XP into a new XP CD. Google "XP Slipstream"
