    What is the name of person that directs planes on da groung when they land at the airport and are outside the terminal building they have those lights and things that look like table tennis rackets anyone know

    That function is usually carried out by the line service engineer or aircraft "handler"

    It is bit embarrassing when you get that done for you and you are in Cessna 152.
    Even weirder when they chock your airplane, and give you lift back to FSO in golf buggy.
    Then you raid the pilots lounge for free coffee and donuts.
    Ah to fly in the states...
