I may be wrong as its a distance away! but could it be a mk1 accord (76-81)?

Yes, it looks identical to the Accord I photographed recently in Wexford Town...

Cool, propper 70's beige and a brown vinyl roof, fantastic! Anyone know what year Honda started selling in Ireland, early/mid 80's?

Its not a Beetle. It looks like it has its origins in the 40's/50's, knowing you it could be an Irish built yank tank of some kind, or it could be some large Austin/Daimler effort.

I'm useless at these so I give up. :(

It's not a made up trailer and it's not a Beetle. If no one guesses by this eve I'll post another clue.

Though it may indeed appear like one it is not a Citroen.

I knew ye would enjoy that one! Not every day you would see one corroding quietly not to mind a driving example.

Seen in the Dodder just down from Milltown Bridge. It was beside the Luas bridge for a few years and got washed to here during the flood last October, a distance of about 500m.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what this is, one big clue in there? Answer tonight or tomorrow.

The rounded rear made me look at both that and the DKW, but the description of the rear suspension in the Wikipedia page was the clincher.

Escort it is, looks like an early MK III, could be a Ghia model with all the chrome on it.

Where is the chrome are you seeing? ;)

The front rim in the first shot was the clincher, BTW.

There are bits of the car spread over 1km of the river, doorframes, bumpers etc. Lots of chromed bits on it so I'm presuming its a Ghia, maybe it isn't.

I figured the wheel would give it away, and maybe the dashboard. The car has been there since the floods of Oct 24th last, sad reflection on various bodies that they can't/won't get it out.

Fair enough, there wasn’t actually any chrome still attached to the wreck :D

A crack free MK3 dash is a rare find.

Actually, for me it was the colour! Although the wheel clinched it.
