It looks like it was playing hide and seek and the other cars went home in 1970 without telling it. :(

'86 Charmant, this one is not for sale though. Besides, the roof is rotten entirely round the edges.:pac:

Would this be a Mercedes by any chance? Any clue of the model or year? It's German anyway, going by the german label I read around the boot area. Photgraphed at the weekend in the old Woodlawn estate, County Galway.

    Nice old German barge.

Stick a Pajero diesel under the bonnet and it'll be better than new.

I've been stalking the most beautiful old Riley that is 'stored' in a basement where I work.
I think it's beautiful, though is has fallen into a terrible state of disrepair.
It is either an RMB or RMF (I'm thinking the RMF).
I know some folk on here are able to trace cars reg's but is it ok to post a reg and/or pictures if you don't know the owner, and aren't sure if he/she wants to sell it?
I left my number under the wiper a few years back but got no reply, and I also found someone else had either thrown mine away and put theirs in its place, or the owner had taken mine and someone else posted one too.

Its cars like this that make me want to get into resoration, but I have no facilities, no storage and no expertise.
This car deserves a lot better than to be slowly rotting away in a damp corner of a dublin city basement. the owner hasn't even replaced the cover which had been blown/taken off and someone has smashed one of the front split windshields. Its very sad.

A story like that needs pics. If he doesn't look up or down at it I'd doubt he'd care if you posted a couple of pics.

OK then if you're sure it wouldn't cause offense?!
Not great pics from the phone:

Thats a fantastic car such a shame that it's been left to rot, but beware restoreing that would not be for the faint hearted!

It's near courtown and there are lots of others down the back but they are " not for sale" I remember when I was young myself and a friend hopped the fence and spent the morning de-badging the cars there only to get caught on the way out and have to hand them all back:-(

Oh I'm guessing that it would cost me maybe a grand to buy, then another 9 to restore!

you could put most of that 9 into the bodywork if it's got much rust!
Good luck with it it deserves to be saved.

It was a 1979 car, but as it doesnt show on Cartell, id guess it was off the road pre 1993. Parking under trees does a car no favours!

a guy stopped me in my classic the other day and said he had one just like it and i could have it if i wanted. just break the lock off the lock up, and take it.

i am a bit insulted to be honest. was he calling my car a shed?

    I'm thinking it's a Mk2 Escort 4 door, a Ghia judging by the driver's door trim......

    Edit - I think I'm wrong now......
